Dragons Football Comes Up Short Against GCA

The York Institute Dragons (2-2) lost to Grace Christian of Knoxville, 28-7 Friday night in Jamestown.

Grace Christian jumped out to an early 14-0 first quarter lead.

Zack Gibson finished off a six play 57-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Gibson’s touchdown cut the Grace Christian lead in half 14-7.

Grace Christian scored two third quarter touchdowns extending their lead to 28-7. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.

York rushed 49 times for 171 yards. Gibson carried the ball 17 times for 87 yards and the lone touchdown on the night. Ben Cooper added 13 carries for 76-yards and Nathaniel Caste rushed nine times for 31 yards.

The Dragons were 1-9 passing for 4 yards and an interception.

Next week York host Smith County (2-1) who had a bye week this week.
