Dragonettes Fall To Cannon Co

The York Institute Dragonettes fell to Cannon County on Tuesday by a final score of 54-42.

Both teams struggled offensively in the first quarter, as York held a 4-3 lead heading into the second. That’s where Cannon found their rhythm however, as they out-scored the Dragonettes by a 24-12 count to take a 27-16 advantage into halftime.

The Dragonettes cut the deficit down to just 34-28 after three, but couldn’t get the necessary stops in the fourth and Cannon earned the 12-point victory.

Haylee Johnson put together one of her best games of the season, as she led all scorers with 35 points.

York’s next contest will be on Friday when they host Upperman.
