Dragonettes Defeat Cloudland In York Invitational Championship

The York Institute Dragonettes took down Cloudland in the Sergeant York Christmas Invitational Championship game by a final score of 45-32.

The defense was key for York early, as they held Cloudland to just six points each in the first two quarters. This led to a 25-12 lead for the Dragonettes going into halftime.

Cloudland failed to score 10-plus points in a quarter until the fourth, where they scored 11, but it was too little, too late as the Dragonettes captured the win by a final score of 45-32.

Haylee Johnson led York in scoring with a game-high 18 points.

York will be back in action on Jan. 7, when they take on Cookeville.
