Dragon Golf Tops Smith Co, Clarkrange’s Pile Leads Girls Field
The York Institute Dragons Golf Team defeated Smith County on Thursday at the Golden Eagle Country Club in Cookeville.
Adam Owens led the way with a 42 through nine holes, while Jacob Price put up a 47. Zac Slaven added a 52, and Ethan King and Jaylen Hart scored a 54 and a 61, respectively.
As a whole, they scored a 195 to take down Smith County (213) by 18 strokes.
Clarkrange’s Mackenzie Pile led the girls field with a 49, while York’s Linsey Tompkins put together a 55.
The Buffaloes’ lone male golfer was Dalton West, who put up a 48.
