Dodgen, Slatten Represent Warriors On All-State Teams

The Tennessee Sports Writer Association released their All-State teams earlier this week, and White County had two juniors represent their teams.

Junior guard and MTSU Commit Gracie Dodgen was named to the All-State team after leading the Warriorettes to a 22-10 record.

One of her best moments from the season occurred when she nailed a buzzer-beater to take down Coffee County early in the year. Another was when she banked in a three at the buzzer to help her team defeat Stone Memorial in the District Tournament.

Dodgen also nailed a game-winning three with 40.2 seconds remaining in the Region Tournament to knock off McMinn County as well. For the season, she averaged 16.3 points per game.

Junior Grant Slatten was also named to the All-State team averaging 27 points per game for the 23-8 Warriors. Slatten led the Warriors to a Region Tournament berth, and one of his best moments of the season came early on against Monterey.

With his team trailing by three and less than two seconds left in regulation, Slatten stepped to the line for three free throws and calmly sunk all three of them to send the game to overtime.
