With the final day of the regular season upon us, the tournament bracket for District 8AA has been released and will begin on Monday.

The Upperman Lady Bees and Macon County Tigerettes are the top two seeds, therefore they will each have a double-bye and an automatic berth in the region tournament.

Only one UC Sports Nation team will be in action for the first round of the girls tournament, as the DeKalb County Lady Tigers will play host to Smith County, a team they beat on Thursday 40-34, on Monday.

The winner of that game will take on the third seed, which will be either Livingston Academy or York Institute based on the Dragonettes’ Friday night matchup with Watertown. The other team will be the fourth seed, and they will host the winner of the first round matchup between Watertown and Cannon County.

For the boys, DeKalb County will also host Smith County on Tuesday at 7 P.M. The winner of that game will head to Livingston on Thursday to take on the Wildcats, while the winner of the Cannon County-Macon County matchup will head to Watertown.

Upperman and York own the double-byes for the boys tournament, along with an automatic berth in the region tournament.

Championship games and third-place games will be played on Feb. 22 for the girls, and Feb. 23 for the boys.
