Tigers Win Close Battle With Smith Co.

The DeKalb County Tigers (4-4) ran their home record to 4-0 in their 28-24 win over the Smith County Owls.

After the Owls scored the opening touchdown, Nathaniel Crook answered with a 15-yard touchdown run that knotted the score at 7-7.

The Tigers were faced once again with a seven-point deficit when Quarterback Axel Aldino found Evan Jones from six-yards out to tie the game at 14-all.

DeKalb took its first lead of the night on another pass from Aldino, running the score to 21-14 in favor of the Tigers.

After the Owls tied the game in the second half, They then took the lead early in the fourth quarter at 24-21 after a field goal.

Aldino took matters into his own hands with the game on the line, and ran the ball in himself for the game-winning score that sent the Tigers to a 28-21 victory over Smith County.

The Tigers will have a chance to add to that undefeated home record next week when they host Macon County.
