“It should reinvigorate that mindset on how fragile it is, the opportunities to play this sport or any sport.”
SMITHVILLE, Tenn. – DeKalb County High School Football Head Coach Steve Trapp joined UC Sports Nation on Wednesday to talk about how the postponement of the Tigers’ season opener, and the positives and negatives that came along with it.
Coach Trapp also talks about how he used this situation as a teaching moment, reinstilling in his players to enjoy every moment playing sports.
“Especially with what we’re going through now, how it can get taken away, ” Trapp explained, “but ultimately how you only have so many opportunities, anyway.”
The Head Football Coach finished off by naming some of the many players he hopes step up and make an impact to the team this year.
DeKalb opens their season vs. Smith County at home Friday, August 27th at 7:00 pm.
