Cookeville Track and Field Encouraged by Large Scale Participation

Head Coach Scott Cook could not help but brag about the sheer number of participants his program bolsters this season.

Well over one hundred kids will appear in upcoming meets for the Cavaliers. They will be an estimated four deep in many events as well.

The best part, they’re extremely young. Athletes are flocking to Track and Field as a way to stay in shape or improve parts of their game and coach Cook is ecstatic about it.

Don’t assume that participation is all this team is doing either. They had copious top five finishers and almost half a dozen individual or team event wins in their home meet.

They also had several girls place top five in events at a meet hosted by Hardin Valley Academy. A meet coach Cook was quick to call “state level.”

He also briefly discussed their attempts to build up a middle school and youth program as Track and Field continues to grow.
