Clay County’s Grant Strong Commits to Tennessee Tech

6’5” Senior Guard fresh off a State Championship verbally commits to play basketball for Tennessee Tech University

CELINA, TN – Grant Strong has revealed the college where he will continue his basketball career. Sunday morning, the Celina native tweeted a video in which he made his decision known.

The 2021 winner of TSSAA’s Class A Mr. Basketball Award and Most Valuable Player will be joining Tennessee Tech University’s basketball program in the fall of 2022.

The Clay County Bulldog, who scored 32 points to help win the state championship, has his senior season and school year to finish before becoming a Golden Eagle.

Before announcing his commitment, he thanked those in his life who helped him achieve his goals.

“I would like to thank our Heavenly Father,” Strong said, “and my friends and family for their love and support throughout my career.”

He went on to explain what led to his choice.

“Throughout this entire recruitment process, I have continuously thought about what’s best for my friends, my family, and I,” Strong described. “With that being said, I will be committing to Tennessee Tech University.”
