Clay Co Takes Over Fourth, Comes Back On Lady Buffaloes

The Lady Bulldogs of Clay County erased a 12 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter, to take down the number two ranked Clarkrange Buffaloes by a final score of 40 to 37.

Clarkrange took a 32 to 20 lead into the final quarter of play. Clay County’s offense exploded for 20 points in the fourth quarter and defensively the Lady Bulldogs held Clarkrange to five total points in the quarter.

Each team hit three shots from behind the three point line in the game. Clay County hit seven of 11 free throw attempts as Clarkrange hit six of their 11 attempts.

Clay County’s Katie Arms scored eight of her game high, 16 points, in the fourth quarter. For the game Arms hit two, three’s and four of her seven free throw attempts.

Kaylie Monday scored a team high 12 points for Clarkrange.

The loss drops Clarkrange to 22-3, and was their first district loss of the season as their district record drops to 10-1. The Lady Buffaloes are back in action at home, Friday night, against Monterey.

Clay County’s win improves their record to 15-8, and 9-2 in district play. The Lady Bulldogs host Jackson County, Friday night, in Celina.
