The Clay County Bulldogs (6-1) got back to their winning ways on Friday, as they defeated the Pickett County Bobcats (1-6) by a final score of 45-0.
The Bulldogs continued to dominate on the ground, as they ran the ball 36 times as a team for 314 yards and five touchdowns. Joseph Marcom led the way with 16 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown, while Carson Sharp added 108 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.
Quarterback Jake Ashlock finished the night a perfect 4-4 on passes, including a touchdown to Jimmy Burchett. Burchett led the receiving unit with two catches for 24 yards. Ashlock also ran the ball five times for 22 yards and two touchdowns.
On the Pickett County side of things, Quarterback Luke Smith threw for 104 yards and added 21 rushing yards in the loss. Hunter Vick led the team in receiving yards with 35, while Dylan Anderson paced the team on the ground with 28 rushing yards.
Mark Smith led the team on defense with eight tackles, while Vick recovered a fumble.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Oct. 17 when they take on White County in Sparta, while the Bobcats will hit the road to take on Jackson County next week at 7 P.M.
