Cavs Basketball Edges Out DCA In Christmas Tourney

The Cookeville Cavaliers boys basketball team rallied form a slow first quarter to beat Donelson Christian Academy 62 to 52 in the first round of the Aflac Christmas Tournament in Watertown.

DCA owned a 12 to 9 lead after the first quarter. Cookeville poured on 23 second quarter points to take a 32 to 22 lead into halftime.

Cookeville’s lead would remain arounf 10 for the remainder of the game.

The Cavalier’s Stockton Owen led all scores with 21 points despite missing all three of his free throw attempts. Bailey Gillam dropped in 19 points for Cookeville.

Cookeville will play DeKalb County Friday night at 5:30 P.M. at Watertown High School.
