Cavs’ Arnett Named MVP, 3 Others All-Tournament

The praise for the Cookeville Volleyball team didn’t end with their 3-0 victory over Rhea County, as four of their players received awards following the match.

Junior Mattie Arnett was awarded the Tournament MVP Award after posting 14 kills against Rhea County in the championship match. This performance came on the heels of an 18-kill game she put together against White County on Monday.

For the season, Arnett led the team with 338 total kills.

Senior Libero Erica South, senior Setter Jurnee Wilson and senior Middle-Hitter Bailey Turnbow were each also named to the All-Tournament Team for their performances throughout the District Tournament.

Each made their mark on the team in one way or another throughout the year for Cookeville. South led the team in total digs on the season with 308.

Wilson paced the team in both service aces (72) and assists (590).

Turnbow set the team-lead in blocks with 51.
