Cavaliers Football Playoff Bound With Win Over Rockvale

The Cookeville Cavaliers (5-4) rolled to a 55-14 victory over Rockvale (0-9) Thursday night in Cookeville.

Cookeville out gained Rockvale 379 to 158 in total yards on the night.

Rockvale opened the game with a 15 play 77-yard drive capped off with a Greyson Smith four yard touchdown run.

Cookeville answered four plays later with a 49 yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Stockton Owen to Brayden Nivens.

The Cavaliers scored four unanswered touchdowns before Rockvale answered on the scoreboard.

BJ Billen took the opening kickoff of the second half 83-yards to the end zone for the Cavaliers.

Owen accounted for six offensive touchdowns in the Cavaliers blowout win.

Owen completed all three of his passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Owen ran the ball six time for 136 yards and four touchdowns.

Nivens caught two of the three passes for 87 yards and two scores.

Cameron Harris contributed 95 yards on the ground on 10 carries. Harris also recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown.

Next week Cookeville travels to Murfreesboro to take on Blackman. With a win Cookeville can improve their playoff seed.
