Cavaliers Control Game From Jump, For First District Win

The Cookeville Cavaliers boys basketball team outscored Rhea County in each quarter on their way to a 63 to 46 win, Tuesday night on the road.

Cookeville shot well from the free throw line as the Cavaliers connected on 11 of their 12 attempts. Cookeville also hit seven shots from beyond the three point line.

Braiden Brown scored a team high 16 points for Cookeville. Brown hit three, threes and was one for one at the charity stripe. Brown also hit three other shots from the field as well. Bailey Gilliam added 13 points of his own.

Cookeville plays again this Friday at McMinn County. With the win the Cavaliers improver their regular season record to 10-12, and 1-3 in district play.
