Cavaliers Boys Cross Country Punches Ticket To State

Last Tuesday the Cookeville Cross Country teams completed a clean sweep of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Division One Region Three Large School cross country meet in Cookeville.

The Cavaliers finished with a combined score of 61 on the day. They finished 43 team points ahead of second place Cleveland who came in with a team score of 104.

Cookeville’s top runner Keith Wiley finished in seventh with a time of 18:18. Jacob Sparks finished in eighth with a score of 18:22.

Austin McCowan placed 11th with a time of 18:33. Justin Rusche crossed the line with a time of 19:08 in 16th place.

Ethan Kopinski rounded out the Cookeville’s top five runners in 19th with a time of 19:11.

The Cavaliers will compete in the State Championship this Saturday November, 2nd at Percy Warner Park in Nashville at 10:45 A.M.
