The Cookeville Cavalier basketball team won games against West Creek and Cumberland County Saturday evening in Cookeville. Cookeville took down West Creek 75-57 and they held off Cumberland County 78-72.
Bailey Gilliam dropped 26 in the first game against West Creek. Gilliam hit two three’s and went 4-4 at the free throw line.
Stockton Owen scored 20 points in the days first game. Owen knocked down 5-6 free throw attempts and connected on one shot from three.
Gilliam scored 24 points against Cumberland County in their second matchup of the evening. Gilliam scored nine in the fourth quarter and hit all five of his free throws in the fourth.
Colin Gilliam and Will Horner each scored 11 against the Jets.
Cookeville plays again Tuesday night at McMinn County. The girls tip is scheduled for 6 P.M. EST. 5 P.M. CST.
