Cavalier Golf Takes Home First Place In Early Bird Tournament

The Cookeville Cavalier Boys Golf Team put together one of their best matches of the young season on Monday when they took home first place for the Early Bird Tournament.

Joseph Agee led the way for Cookeville, as he led the field with a 69 after a playoff. Fellow Cavalier Luke Caldwell followed close behind with a 70, and Seth Clayton shot a 72. Samuel Montgomery rounded out the team with a 78.

As a whole, the team shot a 289 to top second-place Cumberland County (314) by 25 strokes.

On the girls side, Lexus Julian led with an 86. Lucy Carwile shot an 88, and Hope Homar shot a 91 that didn’t count as part of the team score. Daniella Pryor competed as an individual and scored an 81.

Overall, the girls team placed fourth in team play.
