Cavalier Football Runs To Victory Over Coffee Co

The Cookeville Cavaliers (2-4) rolled over Coffee County 41-14 Friday night in Manchester to earn their second win on the season.

Cookeville rushed the ball 33 times for 384 yards and five touchdowns.

BJ Billen opened the scoring up for the Cavaliers with an 82 yard punt return with 2:06 in the first quarter.

Evan Whited scored back to back touchdowns from 65 and 22 yards out to give Cookeville a 21-0. The Red Raiders tacked on a touchdown with three seconds to play in the first half. Cookeville owned a 21-7 halftime lead.

Junior quarterback Stockton Owen scored three second half touchdowns for Cookeville. Ownen finished the night with 9 carries for 113 yards and three touchdowns.

Whited ran the ball eight time for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Stamps had two carries for 61 yards and Austin Davenport carried the ball three times for 41 yards.

Cookeville host Warren County next, before their bye week, at 7 P.M.
