Burchett Notches Double-Double, Lady Bulldogs Defeat Monterey

The Clay County Lady Bulldogs defeated Monterey on Friday by a final score of 70-52.

Leading 50-41 after the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs out-scored Monterey by a 20-11 count in the final frame to close out the victory.

Briley Burchett led all scorers with 28 points, and added 10 rebounds for the double-double. Katie Arms scored 16 points of her own, and Rachel Copass contributed 11.

Faith Walker led Monterey with 17 points, while Anna Hudson scored 11 points of her own.

Clay County will take on Clarkrange on Jan. 28, while Monterey will play at Jackson County.
