Buffaloes Season Ends After Disastrous Half Against Pickett Co

Pickett County’s boys basketball team erupted for 46 second half points enroute to 70 to 29 victory over Clarkrange, in the first round of the District Six Class 1A tournament.

At halftime Clarkrange trailed by only four points by a score of 24 to 20. Pickett County’s offense went off for 30, third quarter points to put the game out of reach. Defensively, the Bobcats allowed on one fourth quarter point to the Buffaloes.

Pickett County’s Zach Amonett led all scorers with 23 points and Luke Smith added 16 points of his own. Amonett and Smith were two of nine Bobcats to record a point in Tuesday nights contest.

Keith Whited tallied 11 points to lead the way for Clarkrange. Whited was the only Buffalo to break double digits.

Clarkrange finishes the season with a record of 5-25 and 1-13 in district play.

Pickett County advances to take on fourth seed Red Boiling Springs on Thursday night at 7:30 at Livingston Academy.
