BREAKING: Tiger Football Cleared To Play Playoff Game

The DeKalb County Tigers have had a rollercoaster type of week full of ups and downs, but on Friday, they were given the news that they would be allowed to play their playoff game.

Per DCHS Head Coach Steve Trapp, the DeKalb County School board voted to allow the team to use contact tracing the same way the school does. After their research and tracing was done, the Tigers will be missing some players due to quarantine, but both the school board and the TSSAA have deemed it safe for DeKalb County to play their home playoff game as scheduled.

While he’s excited about having the opportunity to play again, Trapp made it clear to his team that if they were going to do this, they were going to go about it the right way.

“We’re not going to make this about pitching a fit,” Trapp said about what he told his players. “We’re going to go about this the right way, and if we make it about pitching a fit, we won’t do it.”

It was just under three days ago when Trapp told his players that their season would be over, so he was happy to give them the good news on Friday.

“The guys are excited to get to play again, and so are we,” Trapp said. “If you don’t believe in answered prayers, you definitely should now.”
