Boys Basketball Region Tournament Schedule For Saturday

Class 1A Matchups – The road to Livingston.

With back to back losses in the District Six, 1A tournament the second seeded Monterey Wildcats placed fourth in the final district tournament rank. The Wildcats travel to South Pittsburg to take on the top seed from District Five. A win would see Monterey play the winner of Gordonsville and Whitwell Tuesday night a 6 P.M. in Livingston.

Clay County, who won the District Six tournament championship, will host District Five’s fourth seed, Richard Hardy. Clay County would draw the winner of Van Buren County and Pickett County Tuesday night, in Livingston at 7:45 P.M.

Van Buren County ,who finished second in District Five will play host to the third seeded Pickett County Bobcats from District Six. Either team that wins will earn the right to play Clay County on Tuesday night, In Livingston at 7:45 P.M.

Class 2A Matchups – Champions are made here (Tennessee Tech)

The Upperman Bees won their third consecutive district title Saturday night at Tennessee Tech. A home win against, District Seven’s fourth seed, Sequatchie County would have the Bees play the winner of Cumberland County and Watertown Tuesday night at 7:45 at Tennessee Tech.

As the two seed, from District Eight, the York Institute Dragons will host Bledsoe County in Jamestown on Saturday night. With the win York would face the winner of Grundy County and Cannon County, Tuesday night at Tennessee Tech at 6 P.M.

Class 3A Matchups – White County host the District and Region Tournament

The Warren County Pioneers won the District Six, and will host Ooltewah, the fourth seed from District Five. A win would put the Pioneers back in Sparta on Tuesday, to face the winner of the Cookeville, Cleveland game.

Cookeville’s boys basketball team has won seven of their last nine basketball games and also won the consolation game against Stone Memorial on Tuesday night to win the three seed. Cookeville will now travel to Cleveland to take on the Raiders. The winner will face the winner of Warren Couty and Ooltewah on Tuesday night.

White County, the two seed from District Six, will host Walker Valley, the three seed from District Five, Saturday night in Sparta. A win for the Warriors will see the face the winner of Stone Memorial, the four seed from District Six, and Bradley Central, the one seed from District Five, Tuesday night in Sparta.
