Blue Devils Have Tough Night Against Watertown

Watertown jumped all over Jackson County Thursday night 42-8 in Gainesboro.

Head coach Sean Loftis pointed out this week his concerns containing Watertown’s explosive play making running back Deramus Carey.

Carey took the opening kickoff back 80 yards for a touchdown. Carey scored a 74 yard touchdown on Watertown’s first offensive play from scrimmage. Carey scored his last touchdown from five yards out with a little over nine minutes to play in the third quarter.

Watertown out gained the Blue Devils 347 to 85 yards on the night. Wid Robbins scored from 32 yards out in the early stages of the fourth quarter. Quarterback Eli Burris connected with Jacob Calvin on the two point try.

Jackson County finally gets their bye week during week nine before they travel to Trousdale County to end the season.
