Blue Devil And Pickett County Football Square Off In Gainesboro

Jackson County rides a three game losing streak into Friday nights game against Pickett County. In that three game skid the Blue Devils lost games to region opponents East Robertson 14-7 and to Cascade 10-0.

“We are light years ahead of where we were last year,” Jackson County head coach Sean Loftis said. “At the beginning of the season I looked at our schedule and thought we had four or five fifty/fifty games. We just have to find a way to win those toss up games.”

After a week one win against Oakdale the Bobcats from Pickett County have yet to tally a mark in the win column.

“We are really young on the offensive line,” Pickett County head coach Ray Regan said. “We just are not very big yet. We are pretty quick but we get pushed around a little bit. That comes with being so young. We have been here before. We have to continue to work and get bigger in the weight room before we will have success with our offensive and defensive lines.”

Friday nights game against Jackson County will be Pickett County’s fifth straight road game. Kickoff is set for 7 P.M.
