White County girls soccer defeated Upperman 4-0 Tuesday afternoon in White County. Tuesday’s game marked the first game of the season for both squads.
The Warriorettes were led in goals by senior Madi Correa, with two goals, and fellow senior Katie Anderson with one. Junior Grace Jones added a goal as well. White County took a 1-0 lead into intermission.
“White County came out strong in the second half with some adjustments,” Upperman head coach Mark Herberman said. “We tried to take some chances. We had a great break away by Sadia Branch which ended in a foul just inside the goalie box. We missed the penalty kick and White County turned that missed opportunity into their second goal.”
White County will play again Thursday night against Sequatchie County on the road, while Upperman will host Cannon county at home in Baxter at 6 P.M.
