Bee’s Bowling State Bound

Upperman boys bowling team bowled themselves into the state tournament with a 20 to 7 win in the state sectionals against Franklin, Monday afternoon at Bowling World in Cookeville.

Upperman took the first set 6 to 2, the second set 5 to 3, and the third and final set 6 to 2.

Andrew Scantland bowled a match high 255 in the first match. Scantland’s teammate Shawn Cooper rolled in a 253 in the first match as well.

Logan Estep bowled the highest point total of the day with a 279. Estep was 21 pins away from a perfect 300.

“This is the biggest set we have ever shot,” head coach Brent Green said.  “We did it at the right time.

Upperman advances to the state tournament Friday afternoon as they are one of eight teams left in the state competition.
