Ball Movement, Strong Defense Keys to Bobcats’ Start

The Pickett County Bobcats breezed through their District 7-1A opener against Red Boiling Springs, 63-23, giving many players an opportunity to see game action early in the season. Coach Joseph Amonett is pleased with what he has seen from his veteran team thus far; the Bobcats will enter Friday night’s game at Gordonsville 6-1 overall, with their lone loss by three points to Class 4A Cookeville.

Coach Amonett lists good ball-handling and ball movement among his team’s strengths early in the season, along with their tenacity on defense. Coach Amonett joined UC Sports Nation this week to break down the Bobcats’ early season performance, and discuss the return of star senior, Zach Amonett, from a torn ACL.
