The weather in the Upper Cumberland for the past week has caused the entire postseason to be delayed, and District 8AA is no different.

As of now, they are planning to play their first-round games on Sunday, Feb. 21. This will begin a four-day stretch where boys and girls will play on the same day at the proper satellite locations based on the seedings.

Sunday’s matchups will feature the DeKalb County Tigers and Lady Tigers hosting both Smith County teams, while Watertown’s girls host Cannon County and Cannon’s boys host Macon County.

Starting with the girls bracket from there, the fourth-seeded Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats will await the winner of Watertown-Cannon County on Monday for a right to play Upperman on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the third-seeded York Institute Dragonettes will play the winner of DeKalb County-Smith County to find out who will play Macon County. The girls championship will be on Wednesday, hosted by the higher seed.

For the boys, Watertown will take on the winner of Cannon County-Macon County on Monday, and the winner of that matchup will then head to Baxter on Tuesday.

Livingston Academy will face the winner of DeKalb County-Smith County for the right to face York Institute on Tuesday. The boys championship will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Wednesday.
