White County Junior Addison Abell put together two great pitching outings last week, and along with some great hitting, she helped lead the Warriorettes to a 3-0 week.
First against Smith County, she had two hits and scored three runs in a 13-0 win. Abell followed that up with seven innings of two-run ball and six strikeouts in a win over Rhea County.
Finally, Abell tossed another complete game with seven innings of one-run ball against District foe Warren County for a 5-1 win.
She also led the First Bank First Team for the week.
First Bank First Team
John Garrett (Warren County): Garrett pitched an excellent game against Upperman, as he threw five innings and gave up two runs (one earned) with five strikeouts to earn the win.
Ryleigh Boyett (Cookeville): Boyett blasted three home runs in the Lady Cavs’ dominant win over Livingston Academy last Monday.
Nic Smith (York Institute): Smith is warming up at the plate, as he went 5-7 in two wins over Oakdale and Jackson County. This included a home run, a triple, a double and three runs scored in the win over Jackson County.
Kelsi Hodgson (Cumberland County): Hodson was great in the circle and at the dish last week, as she pitched five innings of two-run ball against Stone Memorial with nine strikeouts on Wednesday, and then knocked in two runs on two hits against the Lady Panthers on Friday.
Colby Phillips (Cookeville): The Cavaliers dominated a two-game set with White County, and Phillips got it started in the first game with seven shutout innings and 12 strikeouts.
Sierra Reed (Cumberland County): Reed helped her team at the plate in both wins over Stone last week, as she hit a combined 4-8 with five RBIs.
Ian McAfee (Upperman): McAfee scored the game-winning goal in the Bees’ 2-1 win over District rival DeKalb County last week.
