A fatal collision forced a significant closure of the southbound 405 Freeway near Van Nuys on the night before Thanksgiving.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the deadly incident occurred around 10:10 p.m. in the carpool lane. Authorities confirmed that a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway, resulting in a fatality.
