Eagles Stay Undefeated In District Play Against South Pitt

Jacob Guy’s game high 20 points, helped lead Van Buren County past South Pittsburg by a final score of 59 to 55 Tuesday night on the road.

Guy hit eight shots from the field. All of his made shots were from inside the three point line. Guy also made four of five free throws.

Van Buren County jumped out to a 32 to 19 halftime lead and the Eagles were able to hold off to a second half rally from South Pitt.

Steven England scored 13 points for the Eagles and Will Wrisner added 12 points of his own. Wrisner hit Van Buren County two, three point shots on the night.

The victory for Van Buren County improves their regular season record to 5-13 but more importantly their district record improves to 3-0.

The Eagles will host Bledsoe County Friday night in Spenser.
